The SISEC Selects White team headed north to Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, but were turned back to Grande Prairie due to weather.
The Selects boarded the charter bus and hit the roads at 6am on Friday, Nov 15th. About 9 hours later, the ones who were asleep on the bus were awakend suddenly when the bus hit some ice conditions and started to slide out of control. The bus driver did a great job controlling the spin, which turned the bus around in a 360 spin and stopped blocking most of the road. Driver Tim was already being very cautious driving in the terrible winter conditions, even at 50km/h the roads proved to be dangerous, even for the most experienced.
With the spin out and the RCMP closing the highways to proceed any further (due to weather), the Selects were turned back to Grande Prairie for the night without playing the game. Saturday morning with the roads still frozen over, the Selects were again prevented from continueing on to the game, missing both scheduled games vs Dawson Creek. Sunday, the game was scheduled in Grande Prairie. Finally after a long two days of bordom, the boys were ready to play some hockey! Sunday am the bus driver started up the bus and found that the brake lines had frozen in the -30 temperature. With no way to the arena, the Selects hopped in 6 taxi cabs and make it to the game. When there, they were told that they would not have a dressing room until 20 mins before the game time. Great!... But with all the mis fortunes so far this weekend, having a dressing room was just a minor detail that wouldn't affect the boys preparing for the game against Grande Prairie. SISEC came out motivated and excited, putting puck after puck on net. With that SISEC routed the Grande Prairie with a 6-1 victory, putting SISEC in first place with a 10-1-1 record, also with the lowest goals against in the league.

SISEC White slay the Dragon with Shootout victory in Vancouver Nov 10th, 2013
DELTA, BC.– Mikkel Wik made 38 saves to lead the Swiss International Sports & Education Centre to a 4-3 shootout win over the previously unbeaten Okanagan Hockey Academy in Canadian Sport School Hockey League Prep Division action on Sunday morning.
Brodie Saywell scored twice, while Tyler Besner chipped in with a single to pace the offence for SISEC, which improves to 3-15-0 this season and has now won two straight.
Beck Malenstyn, Andrew Marshall and Christian Brandt all scored for Okanagan, which falls to 15-0-1 on the year, but remains with a regulation loss.
Saywell and Marshall traded goals in the first period to make it a 1-1 game after 20 minutes.
Both teams managed to score twice in the middle stanza, as Saywell added his second of the game and second of the season, while Besner netted his second goal of the season for SISEC. Brandt, with his third, and Malenstyn, with his seventh, responded for Okanagan, making it a 3-3 game going into the third period.
After the third period and overtime solved nothing, Ivan Leuppi scored the shootout-winner to lift SISEC to the victory.
Wik earned his first win of the season between the pipes for SISEC, as he stood on his head while SISEC was outshot 41-19 in the game. Cole Kehler made 15 saves in goal for Okanagan.-- Tyson Giuriato
With the Shootout Victory SISEC White ends the PRep Showcase weekend with a 2-1 record after beating Burnaby the night before with a score of 3-2. The weekend didnt start off on the right foot for SISEC as they hoped off a 12 hour bus ride and were slapped with a 10-1 bashing from the hands of Delta.
All in all, a successful weekend in Vancouver for SISEC, especially beating the previously unbeaten OHA prep squad.

SISEC Weekend Nov. 15-17
SISEC White would hit the road again for a weekend of games in the NAMHL while Blue stuck around to try and take care of business in their home barn. A storm was brewing in Alberta leading up to the weekend, but Blue squad failed to provide a frosty greeting to their neighbors from the west, and Selects White were spinning their wheels up north.
SISEC Blue, Nov. 15-17 (Calgary, AB)----
With a big weekend of games, Blue looked to reclaim first place in the CSSHL Varsity division, but the competition had other ideas. Current first place holder, OHA Red, would shake off an early goal from Blue by newcomer Teddy Bailey to take a commanding 4-1 lead going into the third period. Selects would get a goal closer in the Third, but it was not to be.
Later that day, they would welcome OHA's varsity counterpart, OHA Black. Having beat up on Black earlier in the season, SISEC was licking their chops, and the game did not disappoint. After a rough first two periods, SISEC again found themselves trailing going into the Third, but it would be Sebastian Powsey that tied up the game in the final minute. He would add the shootout winner as SISEC took the affair 5-4.
The next morning, they would look to close the weekend with a win, but POE would end Blue's weekend on a sour note, winning a close game 3-2. Markus Pecnik and Vincent Dekumbis would get the SISEC markers.

The conditions in question actually gave driver Timmy Beers and the team bus all it could handle on the road up north. At one point, the bus actually spun off the road and needed to be guided to safety by the veteran driver. In Grand Prairie then they would stay for the entire weekend, and there was plenty of anticipation by Sunday to get the party started as SISEC White came out and hammered the aptly named Grand Prairie Storm 6-1, getting 2 goal games from Marshall Skapski and DJ Doak. They would also receive goals from Emerson Pugh and Jord Smit.
SISEC White is back to the NAMHL this weekend with a game in Wetaskiwin. In the meantime, Blue rests up for their big roadtrip in California. For all up to date scores, news, and schedules, please make sure to visit sisec.ca

SISEC Weekend Nov. 8-10
SISEC White made the trip to Vancouver while Blue stayed in town to play in the Edge Fall Classic in Springbank. It was a big hockey filled weekend for the Selects.
SISEC Blue Nov 8-10, Springbank--
Blue squad rolled into the Edge facilities in Springbank on Friday morning of the long weekend with high hopes of leaving their mark on the 2013 Edge Fall Classic. Being placed in a pool with Okotoks and Lethbridge from the SCAHL and St. Albert of the NAMHL, SISEC knew that it would be a challenge to make it in to the playoffs.
Blue went into the first game against the Okotoks Oilers with a short bench. The task would prove to be too much for the team, as they fell 5-1. This would be a common refrain for the Selects Blue this weekend. They fought hard to make a game out of their Friday night game against St. Albert, but despite a come back in the 2nd frame, St. Albert turned on the heat in the third for a 13-6 result. They closed the round robin portion of the tournament against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Despite keeping the game close for the first half of the game, the Hurricanes took control in the end and won 7-3. They would play a final game against the Calgary Canucks and fell 4-1. It was a frustrating weekend for the players and coaching staff alike, but there is more hockey to be played, so Blue squad is now charged with the task of moving on from the losses.

White Squad were coming to Vancouver with hopes of getting into the win column. Their start to the 3 game weekend was forgettable. The Delta Hockey academy rolled out the welcoming mat with a 10-1 route over the Selects. Thankfully, this would not be an indicator for the rest of the weekend.
The following evening, SISEC would start slow, giving up two quick goals to the Burnaby Winter Club. However, Brodie Saywell and Jon McIntosh would combine to tie the game while Emerson Pugh scored the game winner in the second frame while Chase Krompocker shut the door to earn victory for SISEC White.
The following day would be SISEC's stiffest competition of the weekend, facing the undefeated OHA before the long bus ride home. On the strength of two goals by Brodie Saywell and one from Tyler Besner, SISEC was leading OHA by a 3-2 score. With a minute left in the 2nd period, OHA's Beck Malenstyn tied the game at 3. The third period was scoreless, and this game needed a shootout. Selects' Ivan Leuppi was the only player to score as Mikkel Wik shut the door and earned victory for SISEC against previously undefeated OHA.
