SISEC White slay the Dragon with Shootout victory in Vancouver Nov 10th, 2013

DELTA, BC.– Mikkel Wik made 38 saves to lead the Swiss International Sports & Education Centre to a 4-3 shootout win over the previously unbeaten Okanagan Hockey Academy in Canadian Sport School Hockey League Prep Division action on Sunday morning.

Brodie Saywell scored twice, while Tyler Besner chipped in with a single to pace the offence for SISEC, which improves to 3-15-0 this season and has now won two straight.

Beck Malenstyn, Andrew Marshall and Christian Brandt all scored for Okanagan, which falls to 15-0-1 on the year, but remains with a regulation loss.

Saywell and Marshall traded goals in the first period to make it a 1-1 game after 20 minutes.

Both teams managed to score twice in the middle stanza, as Saywell added his second of the game and second of the season, while Besner netted his second goal of the season for SISEC. Brandt, with his third, and Malenstyn, with his seventh, responded for Okanagan, making it a 3-3 game going into the third period.

After the third period and overtime solved nothing, Ivan Leuppi scored the shootout-winner to lift SISEC to the victory.

Wik earned his first win of the season between the pipes for SISEC, as he stood on his head while SISEC was outshot 41-19 in the game. Cole Kehler made 15 saves in goal for Okanagan.-- Tyson Giuriato

With the Shootout Victory SISEC White ends the PRep Showcase weekend with a 2-1 record after beating Burnaby the night before with a score of 3-2. The weekend didnt start off on the right foot for SISEC as they hoped off a 12 hour bus ride and were slapped with a 10-1 bashing from the hands of Delta.

All in all, a successful weekend in Vancouver for SISEC, especially beating the previously unbeaten OHA prep squad.
