Sisec detailed ice hockey game report


This detailed game report will become the first of several detailed game reports which will analyze events that may have affected the game's outcome. We will report 9 games throughout the year 3 csshl, 3 Namhl, 3 tournament games

SISEC selects vs Fort McMurray Jr. Oil barons  game 2

To start out the game the teams preparedness was not great. The team had a poor warmup and had several players injured, sick or suspended. More players left as the game went on
Richardson- concussion due back (TBA)
Ivanov- suspension due back next game
Johnson- stomach influenza due back next game
Huber- shoulder injury due back (TBA)
Coyne- played with wrist injury, but given 4 game suspension

Period 1
The game was off to a bad start when a goal was scored against SISEC at 13 seconds in to the game. There were several hits in the that raised some energy for Sisec including big hits from Burgener, Huber, Coyne and Von Ritter. Vinakurov opened up penalties in the game with a 4 minute head contact penalty. #7 on ft. McMurray proved to be a target for the team as he gained many penalties in the first period. Coyne received SISEC's first goal at 8:34 left in the period. The game was now tied. Sisec had many chances and a breakaway with no sucsess. SISEC then went on to receive a penalty for improper use of gear. A goal was scored on this penalty to bring the game to 2-1.  Lunev then went on to score; however, given a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct after the goal. A goal was then scored on a breakaway pass, to end the period 3-2.

Period 2
The period started with a power play for Sisec. As seen in the first period 
the team missed many chances in front of the net. Doak then sent a player into SISECs bench to amp up the energy on the team. Von Ritter then had a chance for a penalty shot. He missed the shot and the game resumed. At 14:01 left in the second period Coyne received a 4 minute for head contact and a 10 minute misconduct. After several ft. McMurray penalties Doak received a goal at 8:17 left in the game to bring the score to 3-3. Sweeney later received a breakaway goal at 2:30. Ft. McMurray then again tied it up to bring the score to 4-4. Von Ritter got the last goal of the period at 0:17. Period ended 5-4 for SISEC.

Period 3
It was a hard fought period for SISEC, but Sisec could not manage to recieve a goal in the period. Penalties for Sisec determined the game as ft McMurray received 2 goals to win the game 6-5.
