Nesteruk, Dekumbis combine for 10 points in SISEC 12-5 Rout over Banff on Wed Oct 16th

CALGARY, Alta – Vadym Nesteruk and Vincent Dekumbis combined for 10 points as the SISEC Selects used a five-goal third period to take down the Banff Hockey Academy by a score of 12-5 in Canadian Sport School Hockey League Varsity Division action on Wednesday night.
 
Nesteruk and Dekumbis both scored a hat trick and added two assists, while Arrigo Burgener and Liam Sweeney both had a goal and assist to lead the SISEC offence. David Perovsek scored twice and added an assist; Sebastian Powsey had a goal and two assists, while Marco Haudenschild chipped in with a goal and assist to round out the scoring attack.
 
SISEC moved four points up on Edge School Maroon for first place in the Varsity Division with a record of 8-2-0, good for 16 points.
 
Ryan Barrow scored a hat trick, while Blaise Arkle scored twice and added an assist for Banff, which fall to 1-3-0 on the year.
 
It was a high scoring affair in the first period as the teams skated to a 3-3 tie after 20 minutes.
 
After SISEC took a 6-3 lead just 4:06 into the middle stanza Banff was able to cut into the lead to make it a 7-5 game after 40 minutes, but that was all the offence they could muster and SISEC used a five-goal third period to skate to the 12-5 win.
 
Bogdan Sharapat and Ed Bowen combined to make 27 saves in the SISEC crease, while Green and Kennedy combined for 31 saves in the Banff net.
