There will be a new face behind the bench for Midget aged players with Cochrane’s Swiss International Sports and Education (SISEC) hockey team this season.
Topher Plonka spent four years as assistant coach with the Castlegar Rebels earning the Kootenay Conference championship with the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League last season.

Plonka was born and raised in Castlegar, B.C., and played varsity hockey for Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri while earning a degree in international business before returning home to work as an account executive and take up coaching.

SISEC brings athletes from Europe and Asia to study and compete in Canada.
